Trip description

Our experience in organizing programs has shown that working individually with each group, as well as separately with each of you, we more accurately, according to the schedule of air flights and transfers, form a convenient logistical connection for you so that you can quickly and comfortably get to our locations.
You can always get details of logistics to the destination when booking the program, after which we will send you the entire itinerary package — there and back.
And now a little information about what you will expect during the days of the program:

SKI TOUR CAMP — GANALSKY RANGE

On the arrival day:

Day 1: Beginning of the program. Arrival of the group to the Kamchatka Peninsula at the airport of Yelizovo. Meeting of the guide with the group members. Then the group members go to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city and check into a hotel.
Upon arrival of the group at the hotel, the guide introduces each member of the group. Discussing the details of the upcoming program and checking the equipment of the participants.

On the day of the transfer to the Ganalsky Range:

Breakfast at the hotel, meeting with the guide. Loading equipment and departure of the group to the starting point of the route. Upon arrival on the route, the participants put the equipment on snowmobiles and independently go ski touring to the location of the base tent camp. On the way 2 hours. The height of the base camp is 600 meters above sea level.

On the ski tour days:

The tour includes eight days of which six are full days of ski touring. Daily radial exits are carried out in the area of the Ganalsky Range.
Day 2: Upon arrival at the location point, the group sets up a campground.
Day 3: Ski touring on the hills of the Ganal Range.
Day 4: Hill climbs and skiing in the couloirs of the Ganalskie Vostryaki.
Day 5: Ski touring on the slopes of Mount Yurchik.
Day 6: Extra day in case of bad weather.
Day 7: Gathering of the tent camp. Independent exit of the group on a ski tour.
Day 8: Departure day from Kamchatka Peninsula.

SKI TOUR CAMP GANALSKY RANGE AND TWO VOLCANOES

On the arrival day:

Day 5: Ski touring on the slopes of Mount Yurchik.
Day 6: Gathering of the tent camp. Transfer to Avachinsky pass.
Day 7: Ski touring on the slopes of the Koryaksky volcano (peak height 2741m, up to 2000m, climb 1125m).
Day 8: Ski touring, ski mountaineering and skiing from the top of Avachinsky volcano (peak height 2741m, climb 1866m).
Day 9: Extra day in case of bad weather.
Day 10: Ski touring on the slope of the Avachinsky volcano until 12 noon. Group departure.
Day 11: Departure day from Kamchatka Peninsula.

There are slopes for skiing, both for people who are just promoting their off-piste practice, and for more experienced riders. The start time before the first descent of the day is from two to five hours, depending on the condition of the snow and the choice of skiing area. Routes for the day and options for skiing are discussed by the guide and group members together in the morning, after taking observations from the weather station and making an avalanche forecast for the day.

On the departure day :

At the end of the day of skiing, the participants return to the mountain shelter. Gathering and loading equipment into the snowcat. Departure from the mountain shelter in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city. Check-in at the hotel, evening meeting of the participants at dinner.
The next day, in the morning after breakfast, the participants load their equipment into the transfer and go to the airport in Yelizovo city.
The program has ended.

  • Prepayment 30% upon booking, period 1-3 days
  • Full payment must be made by March 22nd, 2024
  • Payment method — bank transfer

Cancellation and Refund:

  • Payment not made until March 22nd 2024, the reservation is canceled, the 30% deposit is non-refundable
  • Refunds will not be made due to weather or snowy conditions
  • In case of cancellation of the trip 15 days in advance due to your reason, 50% refund of the full payment
  • In case of cancellation of the program by the organizer, 100% refund

The price includes:

  • Work of the ski guide, the organization of riding routes

Exclusion of liability-Assumption of risk

  • You will be asked to sign a wilderness activiies release agreement. Which is intended to describe the risks, dangers, and hazards that are associated with wilderness skiing and snowboarding and asks you to acknowledge these risks and accept the fact that injuries and death possibilities while participating in wilderness skiing and snowboarding.

Visa to Russia

  • Russian visa could be obtained at nearest to you Russian Embassy or Consulate. To apply for Russian visa on the basis of personal application, an official invitation letter processed by Russian MFA or legal entities is required. We strongly reccommend using the help of any reputable visa company to obtain your visa and save your time and money.

  • For a large number of nationalities a 16 days E-Visa to Russia is available through official Russia’s MFA website https://evisa.kdmid.ru

  • Please read through the detailes to make sure you are eligible to apply for Russian e-visa as not all nationalities and not all ports of entry are part of this service.

Typical day:

  • 7:45 We move to breakfast.
  • 8:30 Meeting of participants to sign the disclaimer, safety precautions.
  • 8:45 Outdoors: checking personal equipment, radio stations, avalanche training scenario.
  • 9:15 Skins ON, get up! Ski touring, Mountaineering, Skiing! Lunch on the slopes!
  • 15:30 Final time for skiing and return to the mountain shelter.
  • 16:30 Hot snacks and hot drinks.
  • 18:00 Hot bath with brooms or thermal springs during the days of ski touring.
  • 20:00 Dinner and discussion of the past day.
  • 21:00 Free time, ask questions and get answers.
  • 22:00 Go to gain strength.

NOTE: For security reasons, the trip may be changed depending on the current weather conditions or other force majeure circumstances. The following may be changed: the time of arrival and departure of the group members, the group equipment logistics (it depends on weather conditions), and the riding trip.

WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU ON TRIP?

 

Avalanche gear:

  • Avalanche beacon (transceiver) with 2─3 antennae, a spare set of batteries
  • Metal avalanche shovel
  • Avalanche probe

IMPORTANT: All the avalanche gear must be checked and properly operating.

Individual equipment:

  • Backpack for freeriding or ski touring, volume 25-30 liters
  • Personal first aid kit
  • Ski goggles, 2 units
  • Sunglasses with protection class S3─S4
  • Sun protective cream, frost/windburn protective cream or ointment, lip balm
  • Headlamp, a spare set of batteries
  • Metal thermos, volume 0.7─1 liter
  • Bottle for water, 0.5─0.7 liters
  • Ski straps, 2 pieces
  • A mobile phone and charger

Skis or splitboard kit:

  • Skis with a waist from 110 mm with the ski tour boot bindings
  • Splitboard with the ski tour boot bindings
  • Skins for skis or a splitboard
  • It is preferable to use skins made of natural mohair or mixed material (mohair and synthetics at the following ratio: 60-70% of mohair and 30-40% of synthetics)
  • Ski boots for skis or a splitboard with a walking/skiing switch
  • Telescopic ski poles
  • Ski helmet
  • Personal tools, a multitool and repair kit for boots, bindings, skins, and poles

Bivouac set:

  • Individual sleeping bag with the comfort zone from -10-15°C
  • Bivouac warm underwear
  • Warm lightweight shoes for the camp

Clothing:

  • Hats: a warm one and of lightweight materials one
  • Balaclava, bandana or headband
  • Ski gloves, fleece gloves, warm mittens

  • Gore-Tex jacket or a jacket of analogue membrane, with ventilation

  • Down jacket without membrane
  • Warm jacket and pants for wearing in the tent and on cold days on the slope

Insurance:

  • The insurance policy for the period of participation in the program is obtained by participants independently.
