LUZHBA Western Siberia — is located in the mountains of Huge Siberian Region. Nature in these parts gives annually an anomalous amount of snow, one of the lightest and driest snow around. Our area has something for everyone, forest areas and alpine terrain, you can skiing in the bottomless snow all day long. Join us this winter and let’s make some powder snow dreams come true.

Here’s what you can expect from a typical day of ski touring WESTERN SIBERIA:

After waking up at our beautiful mountain lodge, you will head to the dining room for a healthy, hearty, chef-cooked breakfast. Once you’ve «fueled up your calories» you’ll head back to your room and get ready for the day ahead of you. Then you will meet with your guide and discuss the plan for the day.
Our trip offers guests an absolutely unique opportunity to experience the incredible terrain of the Western Siberia. We are delighted to offer this unique ski touring at the start of the winter season, when frost hasn’t quite changed the snow structure yet, allowing guests to enjoy fluffy snow and maximize their turns skiing and splitboarding in this unrivaled terrain.

Our trip includes 8 days, including 6 full days of skiing on the slopes.
On your way to the top , you may have some excitement in anticipation of the descent. On the way down, you’ll be even more excited as you draw your first own footprint on the perfect, untouched snowy landscape. Calm down, take a breath and do it again. A smile and cries of pleasure will not leave you.
Vertical drops of 250-600m while moving up can take about 60-90 minutes.

THE GUIDES

My name is Denis Lomakin

My direction

I am a practicing ski guide, an avalanche safety consultant.

I have worked since 2016 as a lead and tail ski guide, local organizer of the programs in the following regions of Russia: the Kamchatka Peninsula, Western & Eastern Siberia, Subpolar Ural Mountains. Now i have been leading my own project «Guided Ski touring in Russia» since 2020.

Alina spends 365 days a year in the mountains, ready to show you everything for which you can love them so much.
More than 20 successful ascents to the summit of Mount Elbrus 5642m.
In winter, hold schools to improve snowboarding technique, freeride camps, ski tour programs in locations:
Ridder, Sheregesh, Luzhba, Mamay, Kamchatka Peninsula, Khibiny mountains, Abkhazia, Krasnaya Polyana.

In his free time, he runs trails, travels by bike, does CrossFit, surfs, reads books.

Damir spends the entire winter season in the mountains, he is ready to show and teach you how to ski on wild slopes, how to properly «blow up» puffy snow and feel confident on slopes with different terrain and snow conditions, as well as master skills in the technique of ski tour and conduct basic avalanche courses for you.
More than 30 successful ascents to the summit of Mount Elbrus 5642m.

Kamchatka — Russia begins here. Welcome to the land of volcanoes, the place of your next spring ski tour.
The time has come to gather your willpower into a fist, pack your equipment and fly to Kamchatka. It is useless to make a description of what you can see in Kamchatka. This must be seen with your own eyes.
This season, taking into account the experience of past years, we have prepared new trips in the best locations on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
Kilometers of ascents and descents from volcanoes and hills, life in a tent in the most remote places of the Ganalsky Range, ski tours to the most iconic volcanoes of the Avachinsky Pass, visits to thermal springs, all these options are in our trips, which we conduct in March, April and May 2024.

Here’s what you can expect from a typical ski touring day at the GANALSKY RANGE — SKI TOUR CAMP:

Our trip includes 8 days, including 6 days of accommodation in a ski touring tent and skiing on the slopes of the Ganal Range.
The tent camp is really extreme, which gives you the opportunity to experience all aspects of the Kamchatka ski touring in the wild.
Elevation changes up to 1500m vertically every day, backcountry style climbs, descents along steep couloirs and in the light forest of stone birches.
Ready to test your skills? Then this trip is for you, try it in the month of March and April — come to the tented ski touring camp on Ganalskie Vostryaki in the spring of 2024!

TWO VOLCANOES — the trip includes 8 days, including 6 days of ski touring and accommodation in a mountain shelter on the Avachinsky pass.
Ski tour and skiing on the slopes of Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes.
Ascents to the tops of volcanoes in the backcountry style, elevation changes up to 2400m vertically.

For those who are going and want to climb THREE VOLCANOES, we have added climbing and skiing on the slopes of Vilyuchinsky volcano to the trip, which includes 9 days, including 7 days of ski touring and accommodation in a mountain shelter near volcanoes.
Ski tour Safari MUTNOVSKY PASS — is the only one trip that we plan for those strongest and most prepared tourists who are ready to go on a ski tour from Vilyuchinsky Pass to Mutnovsky volcano, 10 days of travel and accommodation in tents near three volcanoes.

SAFETY

Your safety is the top priority.

We want you to enjoy your trip and always be ready to come back to us again and again.

PROFESSIONALISM
Risk avoidance lies in planning, preparation and practice. We learn and train on our own not only in the off-season, but we also do it together with you in real conditions on ski days. We are constantly updating our first aid, leadership and avalanche training skills. We check the weather conditions daily and evaluate the avalanche situation not only at the program location, but also in the nearest areas, in order to be as informed as possible during the upcoming hours in the mountains. We review and contribute to the production of avalanche safety bulletins. Every season we practice avalanche rescue and other emergency scenarios so we can be prepared to respond to any situation.
YOU SHOULD HAVE THE BEST AND MOST SAFE — MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE
Your guide will be your mentor and friend during your program. He loves nature and is ready to share his skills and recommendations during his days in the mountains. If you have any questions or suggestions to make your trip more comfortable and enjoyable, please let him know and he will definitely consider them.
The guide will meet you every morning to discuss daily weather observations, give you first hand verified snow conditions and discuss with you which locations are suitable for skiing that day. This information will help the guide and you to protect yourself and minimize your risks.
The guide also has an avalanche kit, which includes an avalanche transceiver, a shovel, an avalanche probe, a first aid kit, as well as an extra layer of clothing and other emergency supplies.
PROTECTIVE AND PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Whether it be a lodge, mountain hut or tent-camp, we are fully stocked with first aid and emergency supplies at program locations.
All guests are provided with radio stations to communicate with the guide and other guests.
In case you don’t have a working ski or split/snowboard, avalanche transceiver, probe or shovel, we will provide you with a spare working set.
Your personal gear is also your safety gear — keep it maintained and in good condition.
If your skis or snowboard are not suitable for the conditions in which the programs take place, we have additional equipment that will be available on site and you can rent it.
INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that you consider your insurance coverage and needs before you begin your trip.
All of our skiing programs do not include emergency medical and evacuation insurance to cover expenses incurred due to illness or injury that requires hospitalization or doctor visits.
INSURANCE is your only option to get reimbursed, don’t forget that.
